Brisbane

I nearly got hit by a bus last night. Thankfully J saved me. A guy walking past said to J 'you nearly lost her then' his response was 'I wouldn't have let that happen, her life insurance isn't up to date'.

Decided to go into Brisbane City this am for a quick look. Getting there proved to be a bit of a trial.

Not known for my sense of direction I was careful to have what I thought were precise instructions. Out of the hotel, turn right, then left, then follow my nose till I crossed the railway tracks. Which I did, I crossed the railway tracks. The problem then was I couldn't actually see a station.

I asked a little old lady where the railway station was. Unfortunatley she couldn't really speak English, also unfortunately she pointed left and then she pointed right. I chose right.

Walked past the local milk bar
And found the local internet place

And finally the railway station. I should have just turned around and gone back to the hotel.

Turns out not many trains go to this railway station. I needed to catch a bus to what I thought was Eagle Farm but was actually Eagle Junction, I knew Eagle Farm was very close so became very concerned when it ook 10 minutes to get to the railway station. Stressed for nothing we finally arrived at Eagle Junction Station. State of the Art station it took three goes to find the platform where the train was going to the city. (The track that was marked City doesn't actually GO to the city). I also had to catch the train quickly as according to a guard my ticket was only valid for another hour WTF!!!!

Finally caught the train to Central which actually isn't called Central but Brunswick, it would have been helpful if somebody had told me this thus allowing me to get off at the correct station within the hour that I had left on my ticket.

As all of this was happening I had a call from my solicitor trying to make an appointment for this week, numerous calls were made to get somebody to relieve me at work (still hasn't been sorted) two calls from medical people about John's MND issues and 6 calls to and from my sister.

Finally arrived in Brisbane City/Central/Brunswick.

I had 30 minutes before I had to turn around and go back to Hamilton to meet J and give him his mobile which he had left behind.

Decided I would give the train a miss and catch the RiverCat back.

Took only 25 minutes to get lost and then find where the RiverCat left from. As I was boarding I thankfully checked that the ferry was going to Hamilton, got off very quickly when I found out it was going to the wrong direction. Crisis averted.

Ferry ride is just beautiful, very peaceful and nice views.

How many people can you fit into a smallish space.

Off to Two Small Rooms for dinner on the advice of Professor Dominic Rowe.

(Think we will catch the Ferry there not the train).
